Later on today the 2013 European Super Cup will be competed for between Bayern Munich and Chelsea. Following yesterday’s look at how the two sides won their respective European trophies today we are looking a little more closely at both sides.

This Friday Bayern Munich and Chelsea will play each other at the Stadio Eden in Prague to see who lifts the European Super Cup 2013. The annual competition pits the previous seasons UEFA Champions League winners against the UEFA Europa League winners.

A mere matter of months later and suddenly the Spaniard was walking into a club who had just won an unprecedented treble and could surely not repeat the feat.

After suffering a relapse in his fight against throat cancer Tito Vilanova has stepped down from his role as head coach of Barcelona. Having returned to the club earlier this year after missing two months of last season (after another relapse) there was hope that the worst was behind him.
